The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is an American single seated, piston-engined fighter aircraft that was used during World War II. Developed for the United States Army Air Corps, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a central nacelle containing the cockpit and armament. Allied propaganda claimed it had been nicknamed the fork-tailed devil (German: der Gabelschwanz-Teufel) by the Luftwaffe and "two planes, one pilot" by the Japanese. Along with its use as a general fighter, the P-38 was utilized in various aerial combat roles including as a highly effective fighter-bomber, a night fighter, and as a long-range escort fighter when equipped with drop tanks.

The Douglas Aircraft Company was an American aerospace manufacturer founded in 1921. This Vintage Design recreates the Douglas Aircraft Company's 'First Around the World' Logo from the 1930s, celebrating the historic around-the-world flight of the Douglas World Cruiser in 1924.

Late 1945 Allied propaganda leaflet dropped over China. Such leaflets informed Chinese citizens what an American pilot looked like, his uniform and so on. It also asked the Chinese to assist any downed flyer they might find in need of help.

During WWII, many staples were rationed... each American was allowed to buy a small amount (even if they could afford more). Everyone got their share, and the soldiers overseas were taken care of. EVERY AMERICAN was issued stamps for these products. I've recreated them... bigger, crisper, and cleaner... support local farms and live within your means!

Was a German manufacturer of civil and military aircraft before and during World War II. Many of the company's successful fighter aircraft designs were slight modifications of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190. It is one of the predecessor companies of today's Airbus.

This is restored and enlarged reprint of an original poster of Britain's new World War 2 Spitfire airplane. These planes were used with the Royal Air Force during WW2. The image shows a cut out of the Spitfire to show the mechanics inside the plane and a key or legend in the lower right corner to list what parts are in the plane. Vintage VF-17 Jolly Rogers Squadron Design. VF-17 Fighter Squadron, knowns as the Jolly Rogers, was a fighter squadron of the US Navy established in 1943. It was the second Navy Squadron to receive the F4U Corsair, and became the most successful of them all while based on the Solomon Islands during WW2. Postwar, VF-17 was redesignated as VF-61, and disestablished in 1959.

Was a major German aircraft and aircraft engine manufacturer. It produced some of the world's most innovative and best-known airplanes over the course of its fifty-plus year history in Dessau, Germany. It was founded there in 1895 by Hugo Junkers. During World War I, and following the war, the company became famous for its pioneering all-metal aircraft. During World War II the company produced some of the most successful Luftwaffe planes, as well as piston and jet aircraft engines, albeit in the absence of its founder, who had been removed by the Nazis in 1934.
