Gothic inspired Claddagh. The Claddagh is a traditional European Ring with a symbolic design which represents Love (Heart), Loyalty (Crown), and Friendship (Hands). The skeletal hands lend a non-traditional twist and I’d like to think represent “Friendship for Eternity.” The Claddagh has become an iconic symbol of Irish identity. With a Horror twist.
This design developed during my time in Cambodia. The Bee-Eater was one of my favorite birds to observe in Southeast Asia. An agile hunter from their perches, their maneuverability was a joy to watch.
For Throwback Thursday (or Flashback Friday) I thought I'd share a design I did for Democrats Abroad Cambodia. The designs promoted the organization and events centered around getting Expats (Democrats and Republicans) registered to vote. Not to mention some great events for Debate Watches and Election Day Watches (Celebrations).

The Kingdom of Cambodia holds a special place in my heart. An adopted home for many years that held me dear, as I hold the memories dearly from a distance. The culture and history are intriguing, and leave a lasting impression.
The figurative form of the Lotus represents many ideas in Asian cultures, beauty, elegance, perfection, purity, and grace to name a few. The unfolding petals hint at the expansion of the human soul. In songs and poetry it is sometimes used as an allegory for feminine attributes. It also suggest that a human from murky begins, can lift themselves up to the light to strive for beauty and perfection.
America is a land of many immigrants. Each story is compelling. It is very personal, and some have to dig deeper into history than others. It's a story that flows through family and relations, growing as intergenerational lives weave together. Diversity makes America what it is today - a "melting pot" that is also expressed in the Latin "e pluribus unum", meaning "out of many, one." And it is this rich experience that inspires creativity and fuels innovation.
This land is your land, This land is my land.
