Éirinn go Brách translates to "Ireland to the End of Time" or "Ireland Forever." The term has been endeared by Irish Volunteers in military service and to show pride in Irish heritage by Irish and their immigrants abroad. The Celtic Harp requires great skill and long hours of practice to play, which afforded it the association with the Gaelic ruling class. The Celtic hound motif is believed to signify loyalty, love, health and good luck.

This ancient symbolic representation of Three Hares possibly came from East Asia via the Silk Road, and has been adopted by many cultures. It's an auspicious symbol, often thought to represent peace and tranquility. Another theory is it represents the process of continuously moving forward to reach a state of enlightenment. Like the Triskelion and Triquetra it is associated with the Trinity when adopted in Christian use.

Bats often get a bad rap in Western cultures, probably due to their nocturnal nature. Despite this, many cultures don't share the negative feelings towards Bats. To them, Bats symbolize rebirth and death (but not in a negative way). They are Guardians of the night. This symbolic bat is inspired by architecture I visited in Hue, Vietnam. In Hue the influence appears to be from China, where Bats represent good fortune or good luck.
The Medicine Wheel, also known as a Sacred Hoop, has been used by generations of Native American tribes to symbolize dimensions of health and the cycles of life. Different tribes interpret the Medicine Wheel in their own ways. Each of the Four Directions (East, South, West, and North) are typically represented by distinctive colors (such as black, red, yellow, and white). The colors have many meanings, some believe it stands for the skin tones of the different human races. The circular shape can represent the continuous pattern of life and death, or the path of the sun and moon. The segments can represent the stages of life (birth, youth, adult & elder, death), or the Seasons of the year (spring, summer, winter, fall).

There is only one human race, and we share our space on this rock hurling through the solar system. We’re all equal, we should make the best of our time on this planet, and not promote division between our fellow humankind.

The Ouroboros is often interpreted as a symbol for the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. A World serpent representing the changing of the seasons. In this color representation of our skins, as brothers, intertwining in our infinite lives for eternity. Locked not in struggle, but in unity, a life stronger together in a sacred knot.

The stories of Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates hiding away in Barataria Bay always sparked a sense of wonder in me as a kid. And my kids helped inspire this shirt.

History has proven that New Orleans is a resilient city. From the challenges of rebuilding after a great fire (Trivia: the French Quarter is largely Spanish architecture), war, and natural (and manmade) disasters. May 7th, 2018 is this great city's Tricentennial. New Orleans has thrived on diversity and it makes the culture rich in music and food, and a general joie de vivre.
The Cajuns have always had a special way of doing things, so of course Papa Nöel (Santa Claus) has a special way of delivering toys to all the good girls and boys. Heaux Heaux Heaux Joyeux Nöel!

The Mrenh Gongveal are the Elves of the Khmer. The Cambodians embrace them as the Guardian Spirits of their homes. Now you can wear your Mrenh Gongveal house wherever you go. Maybe carry a piece or two of candy with you in the case one elves wants to have a chat with you.
Shamrock, a three-leaved sprig, is derived from the Irish Seamróg and has been used as a symbol of Ireland since the 18th century. The shamrock as a symbol is also tied to Saint Patrick, Ireland's patron saint. It is said he used it as a metaphor for the Christian Holy Trinity, though the Celts had their own trinity Goddess before Christianity. The three Morrígna are Badb, Macha, and Nemain (sometimes Anand). The three Morrígna are also associated with the three land goddesses Ériu, Banba and Fódla.

Gothic inspired Claddagh. The Claddagh is a traditional European Ring with a symbolic design which represents Love (Heart), Loyalty (Crown), and Friendship (Hands). The skeletal hands lend a non-traditional twist and I’d like to think represent “Friendship for Eternity.” The Claddagh has become an iconic symbol of Irish identity. With a Horror twist.

This design developed during my time in Cambodia. The Bee-Eater was one of my favorite birds to observe in Southeast Asia. An agile hunter from their perches, their maneuverability was a joy to watch.
