Combining Darwin's "I Think" evolutionary tree with the translated famous phrase of René Descartes "I think, therefore I am", I have "I think ... therefore I am" all in Darwin's own script. Although it should be noted that he didn't write this as such, the "therefore", "I", and "am" had been taken from other notebook entries of his and composited together by me.

One of Darwin’s most famous sketches was of his "I Think" tree, which was never published in his lifetime. This sketch was from a notebook termed “Notebook B” and written between 1837 and 1838. He had previously sketched a couple of other trees before this one on page 26, but it was this tree on page 36 that has become his most famous sketch. More famous even than his only published tree within On the Origin of Species. This tree has become known as the “I Think” tree because of his writing "I Think" at the top of it and has come to symbolize Darwin’s steady progression to understanding how natural selection and evolution works.
