After spending one year in Tbilisi, Georgia, I made a little illustration showing all the many aspects of life in this city.

When I was a kid I read Johnathon Livingston Seagull one morning when I woke up early while staying over at my aunt's house. After that, seagull shapes started appearing everywhere. On water towers in Korea. On the side of ferry boats in New Zealand. Everywhere. For me this symbol of a bird now reminds me of travel, freedom, and independence.

One of the first foods you will try when moving to South Korea is the bibimbap. I first ate it on the airplane to Seoul, and then dol sot bi bim bap hundreds more times in Busan. While bibimbap is not my favorite Korean food, it never disappoints. This design is perfect for all fans of K pop, K drama, and just Korean culture in general.

Ajummas have their own unique sense of style, which of course almost always includes a visor, tons of mismatched patterns, and a perm. Ajummas get shit done. You may have seen many woman wearing visors in Psy's Gangnam Style videos and wondered- who are these women? They are ajumma! This design is perfect for all fans of K pop, K drama, and just Korean culture in general.

The counterpart to the hardworking and badass ajuma, comes the ajoshi. He loves smoking, stretching, hitting his muscles, squatting on the street corner, drinking soju, and telling jokes with his pals. Ajoshi is always ready to laugh, and let loose after a hard day at the office.

This is where my parents met in the 70's- Odyssey Records in Santa Cruz, California. I stole an Odyssey Records T-shirt from my mom when I was younger and wore it to death, until it was filled with holes and could no longer be worn. There is something about this space picture, astronauts and moon that give me such nostalgia.

I never knew what I had been missing out on my entire life until I finally came to Georgia. Georgian cuisine is some of the best in the world for the full hearty meal feeling. Potatoes, dumplings, bread, cheese- it doesn't get more satisfying than that. Georgian food is incredibly delicious, and if you can't eat it every day, you might as well wear it! This is a Georgian khinkhali- a dumpling filled with meat, mushrooms, potatoes, or cheese. The words in Georgian say "khinkhali."

It is a bread boat, filled with cheese, butter, and an egg on top!

Thankfully Brunelleschi lost the baptistry door competition; because of that he went to Rome, discovered linear perspective and the pantheon. Then he came back to Florence and presented his secretive plan to the Medici about how to build the duomo. He kept it a secret and to this day it's a mystery exactly how he pulled it off.

The Arno River crosses through the city of Florence/Firenze, in Italy. Across the Arno are several bridges, the most beautiful of all is Ponte Vecchio. Florence is the quintessential city reminiscent of the renaissance, home to favorites such as Dante, DaVinci, Michelangelo, the Medici, etc.
