This beautiful Golden Retriever passed my booth while doing an art show. He/she was a service animal and stopped a few booths down. I took some pictures but never got a chance to speak to the owner. I just had to do this portrait. He was mesmerizing as he sat next to her with those beautiful sensitive eyes.

This was quite a challenge! Bulldogs have so many creases and unusual features. My reference was from a photo I took at a costume dog show. I was tempted to paint him with the costume but decided against it. At first I was just going to do just his face but then decided he needed a body.
