Who doesn't love a tardigrade? I think they're our greatest hope for survival of terrestrial DNA, given their ability to survive the vacuum of space, underwater, extreme heat and cold, you know, pretty much everywhere and in every condition. If you need a little bravery, a little toughness, turn to the tardigrade for inspiration. Also, I am 100% sure if we could hear their little snoots make noise as they pop in and out of their faces, they would definitely go "noot noot!"

You know the expression "fake it 'til you make it?" I feel like this unicorn knows that that's the real "secret." If you don't believe in yourself, find someone who believes in you, and then pretend you know what you're doing 'til you actually do. Don't let your friend down; they're rooting for you!

This possum is so awesome. So very very awesome.

Look, I mean, if a three-toed sloth is sitting in a wingback chair wearing a fez and smoking a bubble pipe, you have to wonder: who does this guy think he is? I mean, come on. Really.

I love unicorns, but like, earnest unicorns, none of this pooping-rainbows nonsense. I want my unicorns majestic and proud, riding around on rainbows and leaving stars in their wake. Yes I know it's a little silly, but I'm not going to hide behind irony so that I can be an adult in a unicorn shirt. I'm just going to wear the damn unicorn shirt.

The Great Detective as a tiny, fluffy, itty-bitty baby kitten. I don't know why either, but I needed it in my life. If Sherlock Holmes is an orange tabby, I wonder what kind of cat Watson would be? Maybe a big grey shorthaired brawler. I just might have to do that.

Well...I mean, dachshunds are so cute you want to bite them anyway, but the fur is kind of hard to get down. Better with mustard. *Illustrator does not condone the actual eating of doxies. Please use discretion when dressing up dogs as food.

The red pandas at our local zoo are a little finicky and only drink first-harvest sencha brewed for exactly 2 minutes in off-boil water. Any over-steeping and they'll start over. It's very serious business.

So much to say about this design. Let me put the Harry Potter thing to bed first: I got sorted into Hufflepuff, and if you've read the supplemental material, you'll know that bravery is absolutely a characteristic of this humble house; we're just not as showy about it as Gryffindor. But, badgers, man! Badgers mean a lot to me, and they have even before I was sorted- I have a little figurine of a badger that was my card protector when I was playing professional poker. They don't look like much, but they're fierce when provoked. I think the badger is a great mascot to have.

I speak one language fluently (English), and I know two other languages well enough to kind of understand tv shows but not well enough to construct a whole sentence (Spanish and Japanese). It just so happens that the word for octopus in Japanese is "tako," which sounds an awful lot like "taco," which is the Spanish word for taco. That is how this drawing happened.

I'm told this is a euphemism for something, but I really can't say what for ;)

One of the things that I love most about making t-shirts to sell online is the ability to make a cute axolotl t-shirt for the seven people on this earth who want to buy one and can't find such a thing in stores.

A sloth hanging on to a branch is so much more chill than a cat hanging on a branch, as iconified by our ancestors in the 70s. The youth of today pick their memes with far more care and did this on purpose, I have no doubt.

This little robot was meant to be a hugbot, but somebody got the polarity wrong and he's a killbot instead. An adorable killbot.

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! Yep, it's definitely a bird. Underbear jumped off the dining room table one time, but his mom got mad and put him in time out for a half hour. But that didn't stop him from donning his red blanket-cape and underpants later and performing some thrilling heroics in the back yard.

I have no particular reason for loving sharks, but I do. I really want people to have a positive impression of sharks, and I get kind of upset about a week on cable devoted to sensational stories about sharks that make them out to be big scary monsters. They're like the bears of the sea; sure, they COULD tear your arms off, but we also have, like, Winnie the Pooh to balance out the fiercer image of bears, and I want sharks to have that wide spectrum of popular imagery. So this shark just feels great, and he's happy to see you.

You can "live slow, die whenever," or whatever, but just consider for a minute having your lifestyle validated by a dead language! My great grandmother used to say "the more hurry, the less speed," and I've also heard it as "slow is smooth and smooth is fast," but you get the idea. Take it easy.
