I drew this while listening to a streamed concert by Mat & Savanna Shaw. When I first posted it on social media, I dedicated it to them. In posting it here, I've removed the dedication, because maybe not everyone is a Mat & Savanna Shaw fan. Still I consider it a sort of abstract picture of their music -- much quieter & more harmonious than my usual drawing.
The phrase <<à l'invers>> means "backwards" in French.
Pink, green, and brown flower fragments falling from a tree in spring -- actually it's just random, but that's my Rorschach reading of it. I took a line out of Brahms's German requiem that this reminded me of.
This was originally a photograph of a shiny artwork on curly paper and I had to do a lot of photoshop to make it look flat. This was my second try at this. The original has faded, so that a lot of the colors are gone, so I can't rephotograph it.
A lot of my art is hand drawn on paper. Tee public has been suggesting that I remove the images of the paper from between the shapes before I unload the art. I'm finding that this process is pretty time consuming, so I'm trying to upload one with the image of the paper still there. It will be interesting to see how it works.
First I drew the triangle based sunburst. Then I started coloring the background black. Then I decided I didn't like that color, so I left it partially in shadow
I'm mostly interested in drawing curves, but sometimes I put in other shapes. Here there are triangles overflowing into curves. The original was in ultra fine Sharpie
