Sindel debuts in MK3 as the queen of Edenia alongside her daughter, Princess Kitana, but her kingdom loses ten consecutive Mortal Kombat tournaments and is invaded by Shao Kahn, resulting in a forceful merging of the two realms. After her husband King Jerrod is killed and their then-infant daughter Kitana is adopted by Kahn, she commits suicide rather than become his consort. Kahn resurrects her with the assistance of the sorcerer Shang Tsung in Earthrealm, allowing Kahn to invade Earthrealm while regaining his queen in the process. Sindel is successfully revived but in a brainwashed state with no knowledge of her past.

1980s style Mortal Kombat characters! They say that there are Beatles people and Rolling Stones People. In the early 90s, there were Street Fighter kids and Mortal Kombat kids. I was firmly in the Mortal Kombat camp. Mortal Kombat was this fantastic blend of Eastern and Western pop culture that really appealed to me. I thought it would be fun to draw the original Mortal Kombat characters; blending the old designs with the new character designs. I also wanted to incorporate Memphis design elements as a throwback to the 80s and early 90s.

She's got a boa staff and she isn't afraid to use it. Better be on your best behavior or she will drive her staff through you like a shish kebob!

Don't be fooled by those eyes, under that mask are teeth that will feed off your face flesh. Never ever point a finger at her as she will chomp it right off your hand, leaving lovely little finger stumps!

She just wants to stop Shao Kahn and his merger of the realms....but shes gonna look great whilst shes doing it! Be good or you might just lose a few limbs to her fans of death!
