So I have aphantasisa and I wanted to see what I could come up with for a forest in space.

Drunken Forest Bubbly Abstract Trees, Alcohol Ink on Yupo, by Conni Schaftenaar Found this digging around in some old paintings and realized I hadn't "quite" finished it by adding the tree trunks and branches throughout. So after doing that, I decided I liked it enough to share on FAA - hope you like it too! I named it based on the "alcohol" content and the "bubble trees" reminded me of bubbly champagne. Letting the ink drop onto the Yupo in single droplets gives this effect - fun to play with!

Fantasy Forest in Watercolor, by Conni Schaftenaar For the brief summer session, our watercolor class is focusing on FUN! We are using drip art, spatter art, textural art, using various tools and methodologies to do something different. I have several works in process, in this one I used Pebeo Mask to draw my trees. Once the mask was dry, I added in the sectional colors at the top to make the tree tops, very intense and wet, and sprinkled salt on those sections. Then I allowed the lower section to drip and run. After the initial drying, I went back in with the darker blue to add in dripped shadows under the trees.
