Yeah! I’ve always described women’s skirts from the mid 17th century as “huggable.” Just so much fabric, so much floof. There have been fat people all throughout human history, and I’m having fun drawing them. Don’t you want such a cool chick on your T-shirt or tote bag?

High waist, no petticoat, sexy AF. Isn’t she marvelous? The brief vogue circa 1800 for wearing thin muslin gowns dipped in water so they cling to everything may be apocryphal, but isn’t it fun to think it was real? Another entry in my Historical Fatties series, she’s almost as cute as you are. You’re cuter, though. No background because sometimes simple is nice.

Is she a flapper? I dunno! Maybe. She’s wearing a snazzy dress anyway, peak of fashion for 1923-ish. Big hat, big belt, big heart. And some sweet kidskin gloves. I love 1920s silhouettes on fat figures, because all the fashion plates and famous figures from the era were very slim. But there were fat people, and some of them were really fashionable because why wouldn’t they be? Get your Gatsby on with this design.
