Wear it with pride!

The Portland Mavericks were an independent professional baseball team based in Portland, Oregon. They began play in the short-season Class A Northwest League in 1973 after the MLB took away Portland’s class AAA MLB affiliated team, the Portland Beavers. The Beavers were not drawing solid attendance numbers, which ultimately led to their demise. The Mavericks operated as an independent club in Portland for five seasons, until the return of the PCL in 1978 and to this day are remembered fondly somewhere between a mix of mythical misfits and a real squad, but however you remember them, they are legends of baseball.

Back in the mid 2000's Munkee Wear had a very Portland-centric design of the Skidmore Fountain on t-shirts. This is an updated version of that. The Skidmore Fountain is a landmark in Old Town part of Portland, most notably where the MAX light rail stops for Saturday Market. It features 2 "caryatid," or basket holders, on either side as seen here in close up.

This is dedicated to the one and only Unipiper, who rides a unicycle around Portland playing bagpipes and shooting out flames!
