SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launched Crew Dragon’s second demonstration (Demo-2) mission from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and the next day Crew Dragon autonomously docked to the International Space Station. This test flight with NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on board the Dragon spacecraft returned human spaceflight to the United States. Demo-2 is the final major test for SpaceX’s human spaceflight system to be certified by NASA for operational crew missions to and from the International Space Station.

SpaceX, a private aerospace company, successfully propelled the human race to interplanetary achievements. The sketch was based on a famous photograph in year 20XX. Elon Musk was sitting outside the cockpit of Falcon X's first flight while orbiting around Mars. The name given to this codex page also serves as a tribute to Stanley Kubrick's classic film, 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).

The inspiration for todays current space industry engineers

A few weeks ago I was watching a series called "For All Mankind" with some friends. It was an alternative history of the space race -- highly recommended if you haven't watched it yet -- and reminded me a lot of a book I read last year called "The Calculating Stars" -- again, highly recommended. Anyway, one thing led to another, and I started doodling what would SpaceX's logo would look like if it had evolved from NASA's original logos from back in the 60s and 70s, and then I made this version, which is based on the NASA logo from the 1980s and the space shuttle program. Hope you like it!
