Takenaka Hanbei (竹中半兵衛), or Takenaka Shigeharu (竹中重治) is a retainer from Mino who eventually serves under Hideyoshi. His known historical exploits are plain and commonplace for the era, but he has been celebrated after his death to be Hideyoshi's genius strategist. Folklore states that he was known as "The All-knowing Hanbei" (知らぬ顔の半兵衛) who traded wits with his friend, Kuroda Kanbei. The kamon of Takenaka clan is Maru ni Kumai Sasa (丸に九枚笹) or "Nine Bamboo in Circle".

上泉信纲: Kamiizumi Nobutsuna, was a samurai in Japan's Sengoku period famous for creating the Shinkage-ryu school of combat. He once served as retainer in Nagano clan, and fought with major clan such as Takeda and Hojo, after the fall of Nagano clan, he refuse to serve Takeda Shingen and travel around the country to spread Shinkage-ryu. Among his student are the 13th Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiteru and Yagyu Munetoshi, another famous swordman in Japan history. 新陰流: Shinkage-ryu, meaning "new shadow school". 劍聖: Legendary swordmaster. In the background is the statue of Kamiizumi Nobutsuna in Gunma Prefecture.

徳川家康: Tokugawa Ieyasu, 東照大権現: Tosho Daigongen, or the "Great Gongen, Light of the East", 征夷大将軍: Sei-i Taishogun, literally "Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Force Against the Barbarians", in the background is the kamon (family crest) of Tokugawa, Mitsu ba aoi (三葉葵) or "triple hollyhock", on top is the armor set used by Ieyasu, and at the right side is the samurai signature of Ieyasu.

The Saito clan (斎藤) was a Japanese samurai kin group from Echizen Province. The clan claimed descent from Fujiwara Toshihito. Saito Dosan (1494–1556) was the father-in-law of Oda Nobunaga. Dosan was attacked by his own son, Saito Yoshitatsu, and died in battle. Later, the son of Yoshitatsu, Tatsuoki was defeated by Oda Nobunaga in 1564, and the clan disappeared. The Kuroda clan (黒田) was a Japanese samurai clan which came to prominence during the Sengoku period. In the 16th century, the Kuroda clan was located in Harima Province. Under the headship of Kuroda Yoshitaka, the clan served the Oda and later Toyotomi clans. In the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, Kuroda Yoshitaka and his son Nagamasa supported Ieyasu in combat against Mitsunari Western Army, and were rewarded for their service with a transfer to the Fukuoka Domain. The Chosokabe clan (長宗我部) was a Japanese samurai kin group associated with Tosa Province in modern-day Kōchi Prefecture on the island of Shikoku. The clan claims descent from Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of a unified China. The clan is known for the 21st daimyo of the clan, Chosokabe Motochika who unified Shikoku in sengoku jidai. The Ishida clan (石田) was a Japanese samurai clan who ruled the Omi province. The clan is known for Ishida Mitsunari, one of the Go-Bugyo (五奉行) or Five Commissioners under the Toyotomi Shogunate. The Shibata clan (柴田) was a Japanese clan that had originated during the Heian period (12th century) of Japan. The Shibata clan of Echigo province were notably related to that of the Shibata clan of Owari province. The Shibata clan of Echigo were descended from Sasaki Moritsuna, a supporter of Minamoto no Yoritomo and a son of Sasaki Hideyoshi. The Shibata later became retainers of the Nagao clan, which was under control by the famed Uesugi Kenshin. After Shibata Shigeie died during the year of 1587, the Shibata clan attempted to break away from the Uesugi. After this, the clan of Echigo became extinct, never to be seen again. The Toyotomi clan (豊臣) was a Japanese clan that ruled over Japan before the Edo period, the most influential figure within the Toyotomi was Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of the three “unifiers of Japan”, the clan dissolved after the son of Hideyoshi, Toyotomi hideyori commit seppuku adter defeated by Tokugawa Ieyasu in siege of Osaka. The Azai clan (浅井) was a line of daimyos during Japan’s Sengoku jidai that was based in Omi Province (present day Shiga Prefecture). The Azai clan, along with the Asakura clan, opposed Oda Nobunaga in the late 16th century. They were defeated by him at the Battle of Anegawa in 1570, and all but eliminated when their home castle, Odani Castle, was taken three years later. The Late Hojo clan (後北条), or Odawara Hojo was one of the most powerful warrior clans in Japan in the Sengoku period and held domains primarily in the Kantō region, but they were not related to the earlier Hojo clan who controlled the hereditary title of shikken of the Kamakura shogunate. Ouchi clan (大内) was one of the most powerful and important families in Japan during the reign of the Ashikaga shogunate in the 12th to 14th centuries. Their domains, ruled from the castle town of Yamaguchi, comprised six provinces at their height, and the Ouchi played a major role in supporting the Ashikaga in the Nanboku-cho Wars against the Imperial Court.
