I think Spotted Sun Orchids are one of the prettiest of our native orchids - and this is a really good specimen! Their botanical name is Thelymitra Ixioides and this one was found at Baluk Willam Reserve in Belgrave South, Victoria, Australia.

This is called a Tall Greenhood - Pterostylis Longifolia. Because of the drought this lovely specimen was about half the size they usually grow to. Greenhood orchids are usually common in the woodlands of Victoria in Spring, but have become much harder to find in recent times.

This is a rare Green Bird Orchid (Chiloglottis Cornuta). It was growing in the middle of a colony of Common Bird Orchids - so hard to get at without trampling some of them - but I managed! Found at Hochkins Ridge Flora Reserve in Croydon North, Victoria, Australia.

Lovely to see these pretty little orchids back in numbers - they've been hard to find for the last couple of years. Amazing what a little rain can do! These are White Finger orchids or Caladenia Alba.

This is a Common Bird Orchid (Chiloglottis Valida), and was growing in a large colony. It's the only place I've ever seen these in numbers - with the special treat of a rare Green Bird Orchid in the middle of them! It's easy to see why it's called a bird orchid.
