How many of you know that the Rubik’s cube is the world’s top selling puzzle game and also widely considered to be the world’s best-selling toy of all time? A Hungarian sculpture and professor in architecture, Erno Rubik, invented the Rubik cube in 1974. In the beginning is was called the Magic Cube but since then it got other names as well. Since January 2009 it is estimated that 350 million cubes had been sold worldwide and it still is a top seller today. This puzzle toy lead to many worldwide competitions and world records. I am sure most of you bought or played with a Rubik cube once. I created this Rubik cube in a Snow Globe to give it another 3D dimension and an artistic appearance to it.

The act of being deliberate with a camera and particularly using light in being creative is indeed ~ an aesthetic one. It seems as I delve deeper and deeper into photography and further studying the discipline... that often 'photographers and film-makers' speak about 'a go to' or 'dedicated lens' or a 'lens of choice'. With this in mind I went out to better capture the use of 'THE LENS' in situ - in the field... Understanding the principles of prism light, light reflection and refraction - basic principles taught to me in foundation physics - in Caernarfon school... so many many moons ago... I worked on this idea combining modern with old... Modern day technological advances in cameras with old vintage glass. Alpha A7
