Balconing is the practice that some UK residents and other tourists like to do when they go to Spain (Balearic islands, canary islands, Magaluf, Benidorm, Torremolinos and everywhere on the mediterranean coasts) on vacation. It simply consists on getting mighty drunk and throw themselves from the balcony with the aim of landing on the pool so nothing happens. Ciutadella Town Hall. The Town Hall is the former palace of the Arab governor. Ciutadella, an historic town, was originally named by the Carthagians, who called it Jamma, and was the original capital of Menorca, Balearic Islands, Spain until the British came along and moved it to Mahon in in 1722. Cala Romantica, (s'Estany d’en Mas) was the first beach to be developed in this area near Porto Cristo on the Island of Majorca. Previously it had been a solitary area because of the mosquitoes living in the swampy area at the mouth of Torrent des Morts, which runs down to the same beach and has its source on the side of Puig de sa Bandera (333 m). The small resort of Fornells lies on the north coast of Menorca. It is famous for its seafood restaurants. Apparently King Carlos of Spain sails into Fornells bay occasionally to partake! One of the famous dishes is Caldereta de Ilagosta, meaning spiny lobster stew, delicious! Menorca is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands, and lies off the coast of Spain in the Western Mediterranean. The beautiful and very quiet Cala Mitjana Beach on Menorca’s South coast is a delight. Situated down a small rocky track off the road from Ferreries to Cala Galdana, on the left hand side just before Cala Galdana but at the end lies an idyllic south facing cove, bounded by wooded cliffs.
