Frasier Crane's Nightmare Inn design is inspired by many peoples favourite episode of the hit sitcom Frasier starring Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce.
In 'Ham Radio', Frasier takes on the role of auteur with an Orson Welles complex when he writes, produces and directs a recreation of a 1940's style murder mystery play.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. This is my drawing of the tortoise and the hare. The hare ridicules the slow tortoise. Then the tortoise challenges the hare to a race. The hare off to a fast start stops to take a nap. When the hare wakes up, he finds the tortoise crossing the finish line first.

The Prancing Pony (i.e. the Inn of the Prancing Pony) was an inn in Bree where Frodo Baggins, Sam, Pippin, and Merry first met Strider. The Prancing Pony was based inside the central hub of the town, near stables and various merchant stalls. Since Bree was built on the major road of the Greenway, it was a fairly well-traveled inn, and was so accustomed to hobbits that designated hobbit-rooms had been built. Barliman Butterbur was the inkeeper at the time of the War of the Ring. Nob and Bob were two hobbits that worked under him: Nob was a general servant, and Bob was as a ostler, tending to the horses and ponies.
