Celtic pagans or neopagans who are not of a Celtic cultural orientation, may use the triquetra to symbolise a variety of concepts and mythological figures. Due to its presence in insular Celtic art, Celtic Reconstructionists use the triquetra either to represent one of the various triplicities in their cosmology and theology (such as the tripartite division of the world into the realms of Land, Sea and Sky), or as a symbol of one of the specific Celtic triple goddesses, for example the battle goddess, The Morrígan. The symbol is also sometimes used by Wiccans and some New Agers to symbolise the Triple Goddess, or as a protective symbol.

Ivy represents eternity, fidelity, and strong affectionate attachment, such as wedded love and friendship. Holly symbolizes peace and goodwill in Celtic mythology. Has been seen as a symbol of fertility and eternal life. A Holly wreath was worn as a crown for good luck. Trinity knot is sometimes called the Irish Love knot.

This design is based on part of a Pictish standing stone in Aberlemno Scotland. It depicts two animals that could be identified as either kelpies (a mythical Scottish shape-shifting figure often appearing as a horse) or seahorses. I leave the interpretation up to you!

"The Trinity knot is also called the Triquetra and is one of the best known symbols in Celtic culture. The Celtic Christian church used it to represent the Holy Trinity, but other cultures used the symbol too and each attached its own meaning to it."

This is not meant to be a true representation of the traditional Celtic shield, which was ovoid and usually made of brass or bronze. This is my decorative interpretation of a Celtic shield, with Trinity knot, Celtic knot decorative inlays, and fantasy style Celtic swords.

A Celtic cross design inspired by the illuminated manuscripts of the Book of Durrow which is currently kept in the Library of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

The triple knot indicates the holy trinity of the great mother goddess. She often appears in three forms, the virgin, the mother and the old way. Its symbol is also the triple moon, which represents the phases of the waxing moon (will), the full moon (be) and the waning moon (decay).

Nestled somewhere between the Shimmering Isles and the edge of the Skyie Meadows lives an ultra rare breed, the Celtic dragon. O Hara the Stout, a brewer of magical potions, and Wizard Brezhoneg were inspired by a Celtic dragons golden knotted horns and worked some magic to allow these dragons to come and live at the end of the rainbow habitat. Unfortunately, that magic will unravel soon and the Celtic dragon will be gone.

The Triple Moon, were used in Pagan and Wiccan teachings. It represents the threefold nature of the Goddess: As a maiden, mother and crone. The Triquetra symbolizes the three faces of the Goddess, balance of the Mind, Body and Spirit. The circle signifies the ever-turning cycle of life, death and rebirth. The Triquetra is a fantastic way to represent the power of three and celebrate the divine feminine.
