Nasturtium watercolor by artist Audrey Gaines. A summer time flower. Artist Statement - These flowers alway remind me of our triune God. When I order flowers for our church altar the florist always use 3 of the same flowers to represent the Trinity, so I thought I too would place 3 of the same kind of flowers in my artwork to honor our triune God. Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us , "A cord of three strands is not easily broken."

So many flowers, so little time. With pollen on her head and beak, a female Allen's Hummingbird approaches a bright yellow nasturtium flower. In my yard, the hummingbirds prefer the feeders to the flowers, it seems. It took several days of shooting to get this shot. Shot with a Pentax K-3 and SMC-A 35-105mm, f14, 1/640s, ISO 3200.
